( Story Start )

So I'm currently rewatching ST:TOS's "A Devil in the Dark" (it's been years since I saw it last) because I made a reference to the Horta in my last fic and a response to it (blows kisses to spomarani) got me thinking "You know, that episode needs a coda SO HARD (spoiler alert... a smutty one ;)). I mean, the slash practically speaks for itself. You don't even need goggles. Or eyesight, really. Anyhoo, so I'm about ten minutes in and the guy in the orange jumpsuit goes towards the strange noises emanating from the tunnels, after its already been reported that 50 people have died due to globby monster (who happens to be entirely immune to laser blasts).

So. That's smart.

Pardon me for a second, I just need to get this off my chest... NO JOB IS WORTH DYING FOR BY SILICON GLOBBY MONSTER!

Kay, back to watching now...

Edit: Awwww...

What Kirk said: "Mr. Spock, I want you to assist Scotty with the pump thing-a-ma-bob."

What he meant: "Lover, I don't want you anywhere near Glopus Killacus."

Or, rather...

"I'm expendable, you're not"

(I swear Kirk looks like he's getting turned on when Spock starts quoting the odds of them both getting killed by Glopus Killacus).

Edit 2: "Jim! Jim!" *utterly panicked expression*

Well, someone, not mentioning any names, but his name starts with "S" and ends with "pock", is emotionally compromised at the thought of the Captain being in danger. Just saying...

Edit 3: "Kill it, Captain! Quickly!"

I LOVE THIS SCENE WITH A PASSION.

They're against each other in the first round, which *scowl*. Fine AfterElton, make me do something I've refused to do since AOS came out, make me choose (which, I'm sorry fellow Reboot fam, when pushed into a corner and forced to make the decision, the originals get my vote. Doesn't mean I've abandoned AOS like so much of fandom, just means six movies, three seasons and a childhood raised on Trek, Shatner and Nimoy's Kirk and Spock will always have this special place in my heart that belongs to just them).

Good god what a week. This working two jobs thing is killing me. The end of May cannot get here soon enough. I'm so behind in fandom stuff I don't even know what's going on, lol. I only read the now entirely infamous Simon Pegg tweet very recently (I know, I know... 'that was so earlier this week, Jaylee, where the hell have you been?!'). Yes, I'm fully aware it's old news, but since it can't possibly be reblogged enough, I'm doing it anyway. ;)

...thus cinching Simon Pegg's place as the coolest celebrity to have ever lived, ever.

I owe a bunch of people comments and replies and for that I'm truly sorry. I haven't forgotten about you, promise, I just really have no life to speak of at present. :D

And now the favor I referred to in the subject header... submissions for the KiScon zine are due on Sunday and because I've been so insanely busy with work, I, uh, only wrote my submission last night (and pulled a really late nighter to do it). The good news, hey, I wrote something, the bad news, I have a little less than two days to get it beta'd, edited and submitted. I swear I'm not normally this much of a flake, but is there anyone who is willing to speed beta for me? On the plus side the story is only 2.5k, on the con side, I speed wrote it at 'way too late and/or early - depending how you look at it - to be cognizant am' thus I'm not promising coherency or even English (i.e. the story is probably closer to gobbledegook). Puh-lease?! You will have my eternal gratitude as well as my undying love and devotion. We're talking Dread Pirate Roberts "As you wish" level type devotion, here.

And now, can anyone tell me what else it is I've missed this week? :D

Did the Avengers Friday night...

It was awesome. Really, really enjoyable. I wouldn't mind going to see it again. :D

It had that Whedon special brand of smart,savvy sarcasm tempered with obvious character affection that he does SO WELL (miss Buffy, yes I do *sniff*). I wont give away spoilers or anything but I will say this, I went in expecting to enjoy Iron Man the most, as you do, but I have to say, the Hulk really stole the show. Okay, so maybe I'll give away one little, itty, bitty spoiler.
