Anyone up for a round-robin?

I'll start...

****

Brown eyes stared at him unwaveringly, and Jim stared right back, each sitting in a conference room chair facing one another. Jim was reminded of a game he and Sam used to play as children, who could stare the longest without blinking, a game in which he had been the champ many years running. He figured Spock had the edge on him, since blinking was probably a physiological trait trained out of this particular Vulcan at birth, kind of like laughter, and well, any personality of any kind, but he had to show Spock that he would at least try.

Spock may have an undeniable claim on stoicism, but the Kirk’s of the galaxy? They did stubborn like it was no one’s business. Put Vulcan resolve against that and they may just come up equal.

“So, that was kind of a dramatic entrance in there. I was kind of shocked, not the least of which is because I believe you turned down my initial offer for the position of First Officer with the Vulcan equivalent of ‘no way, no how, not in this lifetime, I’d rather go found a colony and be fruitful and multiply then deal with that crazy-ass Kirk guy on a daily basis’ so I’m a bit confused to see you here now. Not that I’m ungrateful, don’t get me wrong, I’m thrilled to have you,” he stated at last, bringing attention to why he had called Spock in for this impromptu meeting.

Yes, Jim was stubborn and he embraced it, but he was also impatient, and the curiosity behind his inquiry burned like a raging inferno. He’d gladly hand the title of he-who-could-remain-impassive-the-longest to Spock if it got his questions answered.
